I've been buying Shock Absorber bras ever since I've been active, and I'll probably buy them again, but definitely not direct from this website, that's for sure. My package was lost - I called customer service twice, they never responded. I emailed - the first email, it took 3 business days to hear a response. The second time I emailed, I didn't get a response for TWO WEEKS. I emailed twice both times. Almost a month after my initial purchase, they made the move to re-send my package. Just appalling service.
The bra ended up being too small in the cups unfortunately. So I can't review it accurately. The company is helping me to exchange it for a size that will fit me though! But it looks like a great bra. I'm a seamstress, n I can tell ya that the materials are pretty good, breathable, lightweight yet supportive. The only thing I didn't like was how the edge of the plastic zipper poked me in the cleavage area but that could be due to the small size.
If it ends up being a problem with my new bra I'll just cover it with fabric.
I love my new Shock Absorber bra. I am an avid tennis fan and aspiring competitive player.
I play almost every day and after years of trying out different sports bras, I can honestly
attest to the fact that the Shock Absorber has been the most comfortable, practical and
enjoyable one to date!
There are only 2 minor things I dislike about this bra. One is the underarm trim that is a little bit rough and tend to irritate the underarm skin when moving the arms repeatedly. Two is it's kind of difficult to zip at the front with big breast. Once you get in, WOW! it offers an incredible support and coverage. I wasn't expecting that level of comfort from it. Breathable fabric too!
Getting the right fit is important to a good performance
To ensure your sports bra gives you the best support, here are some tips on a good fit:
The band around the chest should be level front and back. It needs to be comfortable but firm. A good gauge to ensure that the underband fits well is being able to fit two fingers between the underband and your skin. Any more space and the band is too big and could cause friction.
|Perfect fit. The underband is firm and level the whole way round.||There should only be a one to two inch give. Ensure the band is neither too loose nor too tight||If the underband rides up at the back then the band is too big.|
The cup should contain the whole of the breast, with no creases and no cleavage on show.
|Perfect fit. Each breast is full contained||If the breasts are squashed or cleavage is on show, the cup size is probably too small.||If the fabric is gaping or wrinkling then this suggests the cup size is too big.|
Sports bras come in different styles, usually a traditional U Back or Racer Back. The straps should be adjusted to fit securely on the shoulders with only one to two inch give.
|Perfect fit. If you slide two fingers between the strap and the skin, there should have only a one to two inch give.||If you slide two fingers between the strap and the skin, there should have only a one to two inch give.||If straps fall off shoulders, tighten them so that they fit securely on the shoulders.|
Do the bounce test! Jump up and down to check that you feel supported and secure.
If in doubt, we recommend you get professionally fitted
as 80% of women are wearing the wrong size bra. HW
